Summer sucks.

The title says it all.

Currently in Melbourne, we're in the middle of what they call a "heat wave'. For the past 4-5 days, every day has been higher than 42 degrees. I'll admit, I'm not a summer fan, so it's not new for me to complain about the heat. However, this weather is just ridiculous. What I wouldn't do to be somewhere cold now.

During todays heat, which managed to reach 46 degrees (according to my car), I picked up my new car. It's adorable and the air con is great. After driving it home, we had a brief (but annoying) black out. Then, we had yet another black out at about 6pm that lasted a good 2 hours and a half. I ended up missing most of the first set in the tennis (Rafael Nadal aka my favorite athlete//all round hottie was/is playing).

Tommorrow >>> homework. Then, I'm heading out for dinner.

Schools starting on monday. Not looking forward, as per usual.

Jared Followill's New....Facial Hair ?!

I usually don't 'gossip' in my blogs...well, okay, I do but rarely.
However, this isn't really 'gossip', more like...stating the facts on a certain musician? I don't know, but anyway....

Jared Followill's new facial hair.
Channelling a little bit of Caleb, I see. Prehaps he's just trying to shake-off the 'pretty boy' image? I don't know, however I hope it's not permanent. I kind of find it funny to be honest.
Seeing this photo though made me realise something (for some strange reason): Just how much I miss the Aha Shake Heartbreak days. Sigh.
PS: I was reading the paper today. They had an article on Twitter, which made me actually understand what it was...so I signed up, obviously.

I got a car.

A 2000 Holden Astra Hatchback, infact.
I'm picking it up either this thursday or friday.

Photos soon.

The weather here is insane..and not in a good way.
The next few days are going to be so hot, it's not even funny.
To make matters worse, I'm stuck inside doing homework that I left to the last minute. Brilliant.

Calder Park// TRIPLE J HOTTEST 100

LETS BEGIN WITH CALDER PARK....

So, as the majority of my friends* know, my dad builds race cars and all. Anyway, lastnight myself and a few others headed to Calder Park for some car racin' action. It was alright, just cold VERY cold VERY quickly (I kind of felt bad for the girls who were wearing next to nothing).

It seriously was amusing to see so many bogans at one place. Also kind of funny to see heaps of men (and boys) thinking their bodys are 'hot' but when in reality, they're not.
Finally, Triple J Hottest 100 results....
* = Who I voted for.
#= Favorite of mine.

I am pretty happy with this years hottest 100. I can't really complain though it would have been nice to see Closer by KoL number 1. Also annoyed that Of Moons, Birds and Monsters wasn't in the top 100.

Valkyrie was amazing! 5/5

So, in my previous blog post, I mentioned that I was going to see 'Valkyrie' with Deborah.
It was amazing to say the least, however like most films, it had one negative point throughout the film - the accents. I think the cast should have atleast had German accents, as Tom Cruise's American accent is pretty distracting throughout the entire film. Nevertheless, see this film!
A word of warning though - when you see this film, you MUST be serious. It's a serious, sensitive topic, thus you must show respect. Don't laugh, perve (well, there's no one to perve at in the film, but anyway), etc. Also, beware of elderly people falling asleep and snoring. It happened several times to Deb and I. Very distracting.

Aside from the film, Deb and I just hung out. A few odd things happen though:
-Some random guy came upto me asking 'What's wrong with your hand?!' I looked down at my normal looking hand, thinking he was referring to the bandaid around my index finger. Before I could answer, he smiled and said 'Oh...thought your fingers were stuck together...'
-Some guy trying to sell products asking if he could have my hat as I walked past. Then, when Deb and I walked past him again, he pretend to throw the product at our heads? Odd.

Some 'happy snaps':

VALYKRIE

I'm seeing Valkyrie tommorrow with Deborah. I can honestly say I really dislike Tom Cruise and I think he's a conplete knob, however, the storyline seems so interesting!

During World War II, Wehrmacht Colonel Claus von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise) is severely wounded in Tunisia, and is evacuated home to Nazi Germany. Meanwhile, Major General Henning von Tresckow (Branagh) attempts to assassinate Adolf Hitler by smuggling a bomb aboard the Führer's private airplane. The bomb, however, fails to detonate and Tresckow safely retrieves it to conceal his intentions. After learning that the Gestapo has arrested Major Hans Oster, he orders General Olbricht (Nighy) to find a replacement. After recruiting Stauffenberg into the German Resistance, Olbricht delivers Stauffenberg to a meeting of the secret committee which has coordinated previous attempts on Hitler's life. The members include General Ludwig Beck (Stamp), Dr. Carl Goerdeler (McNally), and Erwin von Witzleben (Schofield). The Colonel is stunned to learn that no plans exist for after Hitler's assassination.

After a bombing raid on Berlin, he lights upon using the plan Operation Valkyrie, which involves the deployment of the Reserve Army to maintain order in the event of a national emergency. The plotters carefully redraft the plan so that they can dismantle the Nazi regime after assassinating Hitler. Realizing that only General Fromm (Wilkinson), the head of the Reserve Army, can initiate Valkyrie, they offer him a position as head of the Wehrmacht in a Post-Nazi Germany and recruit him into the fold. With the rewritten plan needing to be signed off by Hitler (Bamber), Stauffenberg visits the Führer at his Berghof estate in Bavaria. In the presence of his inner circle, Hitler praises Stauffenberg's heroism in North Africa and signs off on the plan without fully examining the modifications.

At Goerdeler's insistence, Stauffenberg is ordered to assassinate both Hitler and SS head Himmler at the bunker Wolf's Lair. At a final briefing, Colonel Mertz von Quirnheim (Berkel) instructs the committee members in how to use pencil detonators. Stauffenberg also reaches out to General Fellgiebel (Izzard), who controls all communications at Wolf's Lair, to cut off communications after the bomb blast. On July 15, 1944, Stauffenberg attends a strategy meeting at Wolf's Lair with the bomb in his briefcase, but with Himmler not present at the meeting, Stauffenberg does not get the go-ahead from the committee leaders until the meeting is over. Meanwhile, the Reserve Army is mobilized by Olbricht, unbeknownst to Fromm, to stand by. With no action taken, Stauffenberg safely extracts himself and the bomb from the bunker, and the Reserve Army is ordered to stand down, believing that the mobilization was training. Enraged, Stauffenberg to the committee to protest the indecisiveness and blames the bungling of Goerdeler, who has been selected to be chancellor after the coup. When Goerdeler demands that Stauffenberg be relieved, Beck informs him that the SS is searching for him and implores him to leave the country.

On July 20, 1944, Stauffenberg and his adjutant Lieutenant Haeften (Parker) return to the Wolf's Lair. To Stauffenberg's dismay, he discovers that the conference is being held in an open-window summer hut, whereas the plotters had intended to detonate the bomb within the walls of the bunker for maximum damage. While his adjuntant waits with a getaway car, Stauffenberg leaves the briefcase at the meeting. He calls for the go-ahead from the committee, but without Himmler at the meeting, no order is given by Beck or Olbricht. Stauffenberg talks to Mertz and agrees to go ahead with the assassination. With the bomb armed, Stauffenberg leaves the hut for the getaway car. When the bomb explodes, Stauffenberg is certain that Hitler is dead and flees the Wolf's Lair. Before shutting down communications, Fellgiebel calls Mertz about the explosion but cannot clearly convey whether or not the Führer is dead.

As Stauffenberg flies back to Berlin, Olbricht refuses to mobilize the Reserve Army until he knows without a doubt that Hitler is dead. Behind Olbricht's back, Mertz forges his signature and issues the orders anyway. With Operation Valkyrie underway, Stauffenberg and his fellow plotters order the arrest of all SS officers and begin to take control of Berlin's government quarter, which will allow them to command the entire Reich. Rumors reach Berlin that Hitler survived the blast, but Stauffenberg dismisses them as SS propaganda. Meanwhile, Fromm learns from Field Marshal Keitel that Hitler is still alive. The General refuses to join the plotters, resulting in his arrest. When Hitler reaches the Reserve Army by telephone, the SS officers are released and the plotters are besieged inside the Bendlerblock. The HQ staff flees, but the ringleaders are arrested. A court martial sentences them to death and they are executed by firing squad. Other plotters commit suicide or are shown as they are tried and hanged later.

From Wikipedia, ofcourse.

Now I'm waiting for her to reply to my text.
God, this is such a boring blog entry.

20 Random Facts.

Oh, how I love boredom. Detect a slight sarcasim there, yes?

Anyway, I'm going to share 20 random facts about me, purely to keep me occupied for what, ten minutes?

1. I think/know Jim Morrison is the hottest man to grace the Earth since......well, ever. Not only is/was he extremely attractive, that man had amazing talent and smarts (an IQ of around 148 I believe, which is near genius). A mixture of very good looks and intelligence is just a major plus for me>>so, hence he's the hottest guy ever.

2. Anxiety, anxiety, anxiety. I have the worst anxiety. Jumping the the worst conclusions is what I do best, resulting in wonderful anxiety. Love it.

3. I wish I was a late teen/early twenties during the mid to late 1960's. Jim Morrison would be my husband, or boyfriend atleast.
A teach of mine told me that I should be from the 1960's, so I obviously have some '60's 'spark' in me.

4. I don't like my natrual haircolour. Well, most people know that anyway. So, I dye it all the time.

5. I love high heels! Love them! Not because I'm short, I just love how they look and how they instantly make anything you wear look good. They also seem to make your/my legs a whole lot better looking.

6. I don't want to get married. Ever. UNLESS, I'm mid-30's and it's in Las Vegas. Why don't I want to get married? I don't really believe that you NEED to get married. It doesn't prove you love the person anymore and its possible to be 'happily unmarried', as many celebrities have demonstrated.

7. I don't want kids. I think there's enough unwanted kids in the world and well, I'm not a 'kid' person. I HIGHLY doubt I'll change my mind on this.

8. I despise Maths....seriously.

9. I plan on moving to LA (or somewhere closeby) OR New York.

10. I don't like 'big houses', which is kind of hypocritical of me seeming as I live in one....however, once I move out ill most likely live in apartments for the rest of my life.

11. Jim Beam is awesome>>enough said.

12. I'd go gay for Miranda Kerr, Jessica Stam, Lily Aldridge, D'Arcy Wretzky (pre-1996), Zooey Deschanel, etc.

13. I don't like Angelina Jolie.

14. Tom Cruise annoys me, however I'd dying to see his new film.

15. I love vintage things>>whether its fashion or polaroid camera or jewellery.

16. I NEVER sunbake>>I fake tan only. I do tan though, however I burn first, then peel, then tan. However, its not worth it. Be sunsmart!

17. My favorite subjects at school are Photography, Art, Media and English.

18. My least favorite subjects at school are Maths, Computer-based subjects and sciences....and sport.

19. My three favorite bands EVER are (in no orders): The Smashing Pumpkins (only upto 'Adore'), The Doors and Kings of Leon.

20. I hate summer. Well, not 'hate', I just prefer winter.

MODEL OF THE WEEK: Lily Aldridge

So, I decided in order to make sure I keep updating this thing without the rubbish (eg. today I did this, then I did that, tommorrow I'm doing this, etc - aka: stuff you don't care about), I decided that once a week, I'll pick a model to be 'Model of the Week'. They'll be past or present models, may or may not be wellknown. Whatever.

LILY ALDRIDGE

Full name: Lily Maud Aldridge
Date of Birth: November 15th, 1985
Nationality: American
Status: Dating 'Kings of Leon' frontman, Caleb Followill
Height: 5'8.5 // 174cm
Weight: N/A
Measurements: 31-23-33 (US) // 79-58.5-84 (EU)
Agencies: IMG Models (NY)

In my own opinion, Lily is probably one of my most gorgeous models right now. It's such a shame she doesn't get a lot of work, however she seems content with what she's doing which is good. She seems really cute, sweet and everything, plus she's adorable in the Kings of Leon homevideos.

She can be seen a few times in the latest Kings of Leon video, 'Use Somebody'.

Lily is the older sister of fellow model, Ruby Aldridge, and is the younger sister of Saffron Burrows and Miles Aldridge.

Just recently went on her Wikipedia page, which is apparently going to be deleted due to the fact she hasn't got a page on Fashion Model Directory (aka the wikipedia for models). However, she does. Odd.

Shop 'till you drop.

Good or what?

I went shopping today and ended up buying a bunch of shoes for a really good price!
Not one pair I got was over $100. Happy much?!
Now, I need to find a dress for my uncle's wedding>>it has to be my style. Number one rule. The dress I wore to my formal isn't exactly my style to be honest, so for the wedding I want it to be:
-More 'unique'
-Vintage, maybe?
-A little 'left field' yet still acceptable at a wedding.
-Not to expensive,
So, if you can help (eg. store suggestions and what not) please help!

New Years Spectacular!

So, where to begin...

New Years ended up being pretty good. I spent it with my cousins and her friends, drinking on a hill (don't laugh, it was really good!) watching the fire works. I apologise to everyone for my awful singing, though I still think I sound pretty good. Hello Australian Idol (I'm kidding, I hate reality/contest shows).

CHECK MY FLICKR FOR SOME PHOTOS FROM NEW YEARS EVE>>

Going for my L's in two weeks. Wow, I've only waited for almost eight months!
