Since the sad, unexpected death of the one and only Michael Jackson, I've felt nothing but sadness, anger and grief. We (the world//people in general) have lost a great being, entertainer, and musical genius.
Yes, I acknowledge that people may say 'but Ashley, you don't even KNOW the guy!', but please realise you don't need to personaly know an individual to be affected by their death. Michael impacted on all of our lives. He made music what it is today and without his movie-like music videos, I'm quiet certain that we can all agree music television wouldn't be like it is.
Now, back to the point of this blog post....
Firstly, I'd like to share my opinion in regards to the increased amount of Michael Jackson 'jokes*'. I refuse to post these so-called jokes as I find them beyond offensive, insensitive and immature, thus I don't want to associate myself (and my blog, for that matter) with that sort of disgusting material. Anyway, I fail to fully comprehend why somebody would actually sit and take the time to come up with these negative, stupid and pointless jokes when you could be doing something positive. Personally, I'm a true believer in the saying 'if you don't have something nice to say, don't say it at all' and furthermore, I also believe that making fun of someone who has just passed is a big NO-NO. I don't want to get to much into this, but I'd just like to say - if you're a friend of mine and you either find these jokes amusing OR actually make these jokes, don't bother talking to me as I do not with to associate with insensitive individuals.
Moreover, I feel really sorry for the children of Michael Jackson (Prince Michael, Paris and Prince Michael II) for various reasons. Firstly, it's been reported that Prince Michael (whom is about 12 years of age) witnessed his father dying, believing he was just 'playing around'. In my opinion, this poor boy will be traumatised for the rest of his life after seeing this and I'm positive ANYBODY would, regardless of age. Also, the question beckons - who will get custody of the children? Despite the Herald Sun suggesting Michael's ex-wife Debbie Rowe wants custody (thought Ten News did report she DID NOT want it), as well as Michael's parents, neither should get it for the following reasons (I dot-pointed it because I'm LAZY):
- Debbie Rowe got a huge amount of money from Michael (MILLIONS of dollars) in exchange for her giving up parental rights. She accepted and has little to do with the children since then, so it'd be plain rediculous to give her full custody. Also, after the childrens father dying, Debbie claims Michael isn't their real father! I find that this claim is awful to make, especially whilst the children grieve after losing their father. Honestly, whether Michael is biologically their father doesn't matter as he was a true father and treated them well. Being blood related to someone does not make a difference, it is how you raise, treat and shape an individual.
- Joseph and Katherine Jackson shouldn't get custody as Joseph abused his sons (especially Michael) and they are simply too old to care for three young children. Also, Joseph clearly never cared about Michael and he simply saw him as a 'meal ticket'.
The sad part of this whole ordeal is the fact Michael's family (may be not ALL of them) simply want his money. That's all they really care about. Today, I heard Katherine Jackson went to Wal-Mart to buy sleeping bags and toys for the children, which made me wonder - don't the kids have a bed? Don't you have any money to buy GOOD QUALITY items for your own grandchildren? Also, not even a day or two after Michaels death, his family took all his belongings and his mother was looking around his rented poperty for money he had hidden!
I guess these are my opinions. Obviously, I could go on forever.
End of my rant (for now).
NOTE: I'D JUST LIKE TO SAY IF YOU DO/EVER DID BELIEVE THAT MICHAEL WAS A MOLESTOR, I SUGGEST YOU WATCH SOME MICHAEL JACKSON DOCUMENTRIES. DUE TO BEING A CHILD STAR, HE NEVER SOCALISED WITH CHILDREN HIS OWN AGE, HENCE HE WAS SOCIALLY STUNTED AND HAD THE SOCIAL ABILITY OF A CHILD. CONSEQUENTLY, MICHAEL FELT MORE COMFORTABLE AND COULD RELATED TO YOUNGER INDIVIDUALS. IN ADDITIONS, DUE TO BEING ABUSED, MOST CHILDREN BEFRIENDS PEOPLE YOUNGER THAN THEM AS THEY FEEL THAT YOUNGER INDIVIDUALS CAN'T HURT THEM. MICHAEL WAS BASICALLY A CHILD. HE NEVER HAD A CHANCE TO EXPERIENCE A CHILDHOOD LIKE YOU AND I, WHICH RESULTED HIM BEING A VERY CHILD-LIKE ADULT.
MICHAEL NEVER MOLESTED A CHILD.
*NOTE: I PERSONALLY DON'T PERCIEVE THESE 'JOKES' AS ACTUAL JOKES. THEY ARE JUST STUPID, OFFENSIVE COMMENTS THAT ARE SUPPOSEDLY FUNNY TO IMMATURE, SICK PEOPLE.
